“I will always remember our first Sunday at Clayton Community Church. Pastor Shawn was standing at the front entrance with a big smile on his face. As we walked up he said “Hey! You look new!” and he made us feel so welcome, along with so many others as we made our way in. The following Sunday Pastor Shawn met us with once again a warm welcome and even remembered our names! He especially wanted to make sure he knew our children’s names so he could pray for them by name. Right away we knew this church family is what we wanted to be a part of. The love of Jesus is so evident in Pastor Shawn and so many others we have come to know and love at Clayton Community Church.”– Ryan Jensen

“When I first arrived in Clayton, I began attending CCC, as it was where my husband’s new job was. As lovely as I found CCC, to me it was just another nice church. I was afraid to drive there, since my car had no clutch (mainly Manual cars in England), I was seated on the wrong side of it and had to drive on the wrong side of the road. The pastor’s wife, Patty Robinson began picking me up every week and bringing me to church. The love, the time and the effort she poured into me made me feel so loved and welcomed and showed me what a home looked like. Now, almost 6 years later, I am proud to call CCC my home.”– Nicola Wakefield

“I began attending CCC fourteen years ago. This church has changed my life. I am so thankful for the many people that are CCC. I tried many churches after moving back to the Bay Area before choosing this one because at the time, my husband was not a believer and I wanted to find a church that if I could get him to come to, he and my stepdaughter would feel comfortable at. I knew after hearing Shawn’s first sermon, that my husband would like him, and feel comfortable. Both my stepdaughter and daughter had Mary Bagno as their Sunday School Teacher and Summer Camp Leader. Her passion for Jesus and children opened their hearts to choosing to be baptized. I was also able to join a small group with Raimee Gould, Emily Graham, Jaime Lisle, and Melanie Parker. We did a study on the book, Captivating, which was about Jesus’s love for us. It was life changing. I then met Chris Boone, who taught me about the Holy Spirit. It was soon after attending a life changing conference with her, that my husband chose Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized by Shawn. My husband’s life changed that day. Shawn, saw the man God had created him to be and continually called that out in him. My husband now attends church and serves faithfully. He also attends a Thursday night mens bible study, has made amazing friends, and his love for the Lord has changed our family. This is just a small part of so much more that this church has been in my life. I am forever grateful that God blessed me with CCC.”– Kimberly Anderson
